Daytona Beach G.C. - North ($)

The Daytona Beach Golf Club North course was built and designed by Slim Deathridge in 1946. Mr. Deathridge was Head Professional and Manager of the club at the time. He laid out the original routing of the golf course and supervised construction of the original 18 holes. In 1997, the golf course was rebuilt. All greens, bunkers and tees were redone. The result is a very challenging golf experience that winds its way through dense Florida oak and pine. There is more water in play and the greens offer more undulation on this course, which adds to a greater overall challenge. It is generally recognized that this course is the tougher test of the two courses.

Daytona Beach G.C. - South ($)

The Daytona Beach Golf Club has been in existence since 1921. The South golf course is the original 18 holes and is a Donald Ross design. Much of the originality of Mr. Ross' design is evident. It is a very sporty golf course; the tee shot being very forgiving, but approaches are demanding if you want to get close to the flag stick for a birdie attempt. Florida oaks and tall pines with a little water are a great feature on this golf course.

Halifax Plantation ($)

Bill Amick designed the semi-private Halifax Plantation Golf Club, which is nestled among towering pines, century-old oaks and natural vegetation. Water comes into play on only two holes, but the layout is still one of the most picturesque and challenging in the area. This narrow course features both a defined cut of rough and tree lines bordering all its fairways. The terrain is fairly flat, but there is some mounding that can affect your lies. There is a wide variety of wildlife, such as wild turkeys and deer, roaming around the grounds of the course. Halifax Plantation is located 15 minutes north of Daytona in Ormond Beach.

The Hidden Lakes Golf Course is an extremely tight course where shot accuracy is a must. All the fairways are bordered with rough and trees. Additionally, there are water hazards and sand bunkers incorporated throughout the course design. Many of the large tee boxes and medium-sized greens are elevated. The overall design of the greens is relatively flat and their speed varies from medium to fast. The signature hole is #4, a 350-yard par-4, requiring a lay-up tee shot, then an approach shot over water to a well-bunkered green. During the summer of 1995, the course was remodeled by Lloyd Clifton.

Debary ($$)

 Select
Located between Daytona Beach and Orlando, the challenging Debary Golf & Country Club was designed by Lloyd Clifton. The course is part of a vibrant semi-private country club community. Most holes are set away from the community by a buffer zone of dense woods and vegetation. The setting is more reminiscent of the Carolinas than central Florida and the National Audubon Society has certified the habitat as an official bird sanctuary. The Carolina feel is strenghtened more by lack of water. In fact, the course features just one water hazard that comes into play by the 9th and 18th greens. With great course conditions, undulating fairways and greens that roll true and fast, it's no wonder why Debary is consistently chosen as a U.S. Open Qualifying site.
