Already drawing rave reviews for its renovated front nine, Bayonet Golf Course has ushered in a new and exciting era for the landmark golf course that overlooks the famed Monterey Peninsula. Certain to provide both challenges and inspiration to golfers for generations to come, Bayonet is being resculpted by award-winning golf course architect Gene Bates, whose recreation of the back nine is scheduled to be unveiled in February of 2009. Open daily in the meantime, the new front nine is pairing with the new back nine at Black Horse to offer golfers a unique opportunity to sample both new designs. Together they combine for an 18-hole "hybrid" course that plays to a par 72 and a maximum of 7,168 yards. Slope = 139 / ****1/2
